Lead track “Clock Hands” builds on the same unique sonic template as its predecessor ‘Hush’ (also included as T4) showcasing the enthralling voice of lead singer Julie Hawk amidst epic alt noir shades creating a sound that has been called the lucid dream between post rock and indie. Based in London, Julie, Matt, Chris, and Sam hail from various corners of the UK and Ireland. Irish-born lead singer Julie Hawk initially embarked a solo folk career, began collaborating with Matt Harris in 2012. Their first release a stripped back cover of “This Charming Man” was played on BBC 6 Music by Steve Lamacq with early support also coming from Tom Robinson. The fledgling duo then joined Sam and Chris to form HAWK, adding a new abrasive edge to their sound while retaining the delicacy of their acoustic roots. HAWK ended their biggest year to date with December 2014 shows at Other Voices, Dingle, Ireland and a headlining show for A Badge Of Friendship in London. HAWK are Julie Hawk (Vocals), Matthew Harris (guitar), Chris Handsley (bass) and Sam Campbell (drums). Airplay support includes Dave Rowntree & John Kennedy XFM, Playlisting on Amazing Radio Steve Lamacq & Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, Frank Skinner on Absolute Radio plus RTE1, Today FM and RTE2 TV. HAWK - SELECTED PRESS Gigslutz - “Terrifyingly beautiful and stunningly haunting are two phrases perfectly used to describe the sound of prominent four-piece Hawk. ” http://www.gigslutz.co.uk/ Artrocker - “Like some kind of wonderful post rock pixie, Julie's sweet, spellbinding voice beckons us into the darkness. Then they go and surprise us with a glorious bit of discordant post rock during the chorus. HAWK are one class act”. http://www.artrocker.tv/ The Vinyl District - HAWK are the lucid dream between post rock and indie. Their video not only demonstrates Julie Hawk’s exquisite vocals but the band’s wonderfully eerie compositions as the music crescendos into a climactic cacophony of guitars and Julie’s sweet voice threading the song together as if by magic.” http://www.thevinyldistrict.com/ God Is In The Zine - “The single is an eerie indie post rock slice of yumminess. Julie’s voice acrobats and soars but she maintains a fragility there much like avant-garde songstress Kate Bush meets The Jezebels. This has made us very excited indeed and is just the beginning for what promises to be one of 2015’s most exciting prospects.” http://www.godisinthetvzine.co.uk/ For info and sessions contact Darren Broome 07896 500220 info@thelostagency.co.uk www.thelostagency.co.uk www.hawkofficial.com www.facebook.com/HAWKOFFICIAL www.twitter.com/HAWKofficial Genre alternative
