McFonky by Travis Glover/TheArtfulDodger published on 2024-01-22T16:46:11Z Did someone order a ‘McFonky’? When remixing one of my biggest musical influences, I had a random thought that led me to creating this remix: ‘What if you were to blend Plunderphonics with Jazz Improvisation?’ Hope you enjoy the finally finished version of the track, sampling the great George Duke. Composed using samples from: Dialogue, Vocals and Piano samples from George Duke’s Masterclass in Keyboard Improvisation (1989) Dialogue from George Duke’s Interview with NPO Soul & Jazz (1999) Dialogue and Vocals George Duke’s Interview with Native Instruments (2010) Vocals and Vocal Effects from ‘Follow The Rainbow’ (1978) Drums from ‘Brazilian Love Affair’ (1980) Vocals from ‘Dream On’ (1982) Composed also using Electric Basses, Fretless Electric Basses, Upright Bass, Electric Guitars, Jazz Guitar, Live Horns, Jazz Drums, Keytar and Emulations of Rhodes, Electric Organs and Moog Synthesisiers. Solos were performed on Rhodes emulations, Yamaha DX Reface Keytar and J&D Short Scale Jazz Guitar.
