Mine highlights the need to think of people as they age as individuals, unique in terms of their experiences and needs. Mine notes how attitudes to ageing changed during the pandemic, not least through the lockdown-inspired efforts of public heroes like Captain Tom Moore. Sir Tom's actions focused on the NHS. Of equal importance in the UK's societal response to ageing is the quality of social care - which will remain in crisis, despite the government's recent NI rise sticking plaster. 2021-09-27T14:59:43Z
