Sorry this format's killing me, I just wanted to express (as a non-Jew) some relieved admirationb for Maurice 2019-12-23T00:41:59Z Comment by patrick.miles51@yahoo.co. Brilliant! 2019-12-23T00:39:36Z Comment by annieb Let me explain (as that sounds obscure). Because of the potential in every atom for both positive (good) and negative (evil), we always have a choice to regard others either with fear for the harm they may do or with love for the joy and comfort they may bring. If we regard each other with love it is often self-fulfilling but does not suit the agenda of the powerful. WWII was possibly a textbook case of the masses being manipulated by divide and rule to their own destruction and then being led overwhelmingly to blame themselves for it, when they were mainly just pawns in the game. Key to perpetuating this divide and rule is to not allow people to debate the narrative. I don't say it's definitely true, just that I have a nagging suspicion that won't go away. I know this leads to so-called 'conspiracy theory', so I know I'm not supposed to go there, because that reveals me as a latent bigot, yet feel sure I am no such thing(??); hence my thoughts weave in perpetual circles on this issue. 2019-01-01T13:52:00Z Comment by annieb Much food for thought here. It led me to this question: Where did the deep-seated mistrust towards our fellow human beings Lord Glasman speaks of spring from? I feel it's a thread which links both Brexit and the anti-semitism debate, and I keep coming back in my mind to World War II narratives and, whilst not wishing to downplay the role played by 'ordinary mortals' both for good and ill, why do we never focus on that played by the powerful corporations which financed the rise of Hitler and his military campaigns? 2019-01-01T13:06:12Z
