3. Chalk & Cheese by Helen Moore Ecopoet published on 2021-08-18T09:20:08Z The third poem from my sequence 'Dorset Waterbodies, a Common / Weal', a collaborative piece made for Cape Farewell's RiverRun project. Based on my research with scientists studying the watershed feeding into Poole Bay, and particularly the Salmon, who spawn upriver in the chalkstreams, the poem sequence (in 5 parts) voices the impacts of pollution on the more-than-human world, and draws on a sense of people's cooperative nature to inspire a collective response. My thanks to Michael Ormiston for the recording. And to Mark Simmons for the image of Durdle Door. Genre Poetry
