Gust of Wind by y_taste_mosaic published on 2023-03-31T15:00:27Z "Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons" written by British playwright Sam Steiner debuted at the 2015 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. As KenKen Theatre Workshop's third attempt to adapt and localise the play, the 2021 production was under the direction of Xu Rui and ran for seven shows at Shanghai Grand Theatre during 22 - 26 December, 2021. Influenced by disciplines of devised theatre, most aspects of the project including its music and sound effects were crafted during a highly collaborative process. The outcomes were manifested in the forms of more than twenty tracks and sound effects that capture a wide range of colours: from absurdity to earnest realism, from absolute light-heartedness to gut-wrenching repression... Corresponding to the play's fictional worldview, the music leans towards the electronic genre to emphasise a certain synthetic feel. It was created through synthesizers, electric guitar, noise generators, and other musical techniques such as sampling and reversed musical phrases. Dive in the six selected tracks for a unique listening experience that provides a taste of the multifaceted nature of Steiner's brilliant play!
