Vandernite Vandernite Malmö With heartfelt lyrics and beautiful arrangements we present Vandernite, an emotional act that is going to mesmerize the musicscene. A few years ago, after his father was diagnosed with terminal cancer, Jonas Hofvander began writing the songs that became the foundation of the album 'The Death of a Loved One'. Using songwriting as a therapeutic tool, Hofvander takes the listener on a journey through the stages of grief and what it means to lose someone you love. The songs are cleverly constructed, viewing the aspect of loss and death from diffrent angles. The album features tracks like 'Day of days' which was written over course of several years on each birthday and holidays, which were the low points following his fathers demise. It also ponders the question what actually happens in the afterlife with the songs 'Rest our bones' and 'It will all be revealed when we die'. The album is currently undergoing it's finishing touches and will be released during 2013. Musicaly it's organic pop at its best with strings and piano as the base of the album. The vocals and choirs reach for a heavenly feeling and each instrument has a clear space and purpose in the arrangements. Lyricly, Hofvander manages to capture the core of grief without an abundence of metaphors, giving the harsh reality to the listener as straight as it can be. 'This music is not for everyone, nor does it try to be. It's for people whom either have experienced grief or can connect to the idea of what it means to lose someone that you truly love.' - J.
