Wim Laman Wim Laman Huizen Wim Laman (April 22, 1946) followed his first music lessons at the Goois Muzieklyceum (general musical education and flute). From 1970 to 1975 he studied philosophy and music history at the University of Leiden. In this period he wrote compositions for student ensembles. From 1975 Laman studied musicology and sonology at Utrecht University. From that time Laman´s works have been performed by professional musicians: the Residentie Orkest, Orkest De Volharding, Harry Sparnaay, Schönberg Ensemble (conductor Reinbert de Leeuw) , Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, Gijsbrecht van Aemstel Quartet, Xenakis Ensemble, Dufy Quartet, the Radio Symfonie Orkest (conductor Ed Spanjaard) the Radio Kamerorkest (conductor Jaap van Zweden), Camerata Busoni, Doelen Ensemble and Ensemble Wendingen. The radiophonic composition 'La Voce del Corno' (commissioned by the NOS -Dutch Broadcast Company-) was honourably mentioned at the Prix Italia contest as well as at the Rostrum for Electro-acoustic Music in Stockholm. Besides his activities as a composer Wim Laman works as a music producer at VPRO Radio 4.
