09 I Get Tore Up (City Lights Remix) by Young Gustav published on 2014-09-24T01:26:22Z 02 The Russian (Skit) : This skit is meant to follow the lead in track establishing myself and Chron Don on the album as members of the collective. This leads into the second single, "To Bleeze Or Not To Bleeze" 03 To Bleeze Or Not To Bleeze: A mix of two verses I did At completely different times. One at the beginning of me working on the album and the other at the end. I change them up with different vocal effects to accentuate the difference. I will let the listener decide which was which. 04 A Typical Sunday Morning (Skit Feat. Western Gripz: A skit that continues the "story" of the album living the life as bleezus christ. A typical sunday morning with W. Gripz leads into impromptu rhymes. 05 Coffee And Spliffs: This song title was originally created by Western Gripz. I ended up asking for the ability to use it, hence the nod on the previous skit where I ask for permission to use this beat (as if he had been planning to use it himself). He did actually show me the song/beat for the first time which got me inspired to turn it into a song about a typical night in the life of Young Gus, embellished with classic hip hop braggadocio . I based my flow of the concept of the song "Stay out of Bars" by The Genius. The third single and one of my personal favorites. 06 Gus N' Gripz (Feat. Western Gripz) After his appearance on the typical sunday morning skit Gripz bursts onto the album with a thick style that flows like redwood tree trunks down a log flume. I opened up with some shit I had been saving for a single that was for my second planned mixtape. The beat was actually another one that was showed to me by Gripz however and rightfully so he killed it on the track. His uniquely drippy style and humor I thought excellently accented what I was trying to achieve with the album. 07 Young Gus Reprisal My proof in the pudding verse was in my opinion one of my more technically perfect verses. I did in fact however write an alternate verse for the song, that bears the first half of this track. I made this song because one day, sitting in the sun a friend of mine named Andrew Shachat played a Gramatik beat and dared me to rap over it. I spit the alternate verse followed by the original verse to proof in the pudding. I Felt it sounded so good I would record it for the album. The night I recorded it I simply pressed play and ran the beat. This song, in my opinion the best on the album, is half written and half free-styled. I Modified the verse from proof in the pudding for the conclusion to fit the different tone of the song. 08 Let It B.O.D. (Feat. B.O.D.) Featuring the Boy of Destiny this song is one that was added to the final cut of the album to throw one out for the hood where I come from. 09 I Get Tore Up (City Lights Remix) A single verse over the song from the blackout album by meth and red. It was meant to supplement the original song by adding my own unique lyrical take tot he beat. It serves a single verse heavily influenced by reggie to conclude the album. I then shout out to all the people who helped me make the music. The Big Cheese Freestyle is a freestyle rap I did over the beat boxing of my main man Kosher Beats. I included it as a showcase of some of my earlier rhyming. Also the Grinch, the bonus track was the second completed song for the album. It was a venture into the genre of horror core, which I ultimately decided I was not really interested in, even as tame as the grinch ultimately ended up being. Genre Young Gus
