Although Will DONALDSON is credited as co-composer, its role in the creation of the piece is not known. I orchestrated this ragtime for large orchestra : 2 Flutes, 1 Piccolo, 2 Oboes, 1 English Horn, 2 B-flat Clarinets, 1 Bass Clarinet, 3 Bassoons, 4 French Horns, 3 B-flat Trumpets, 2 Trombones, 1 Bass Trombone, 1 Tuba, Timpani, Percussion, Celesta, Piano, Harp, and a full Strings section I voluntarily decided to propose a rather “libre” orchestration, in order to interpret and better fit to the orchestra this typical piano music.
