All recordings were made with a pair of schott capsule mics placed inside the bowels of a variety of Rod's instruments. All are made of stainless steel: resonating shells are covered in a variety of idiophones: mbira-style tines, flat and tubular and piano strings which can be plucked or bowed and hurdy-gurdy type mechanisms, cunningly constructed from a disk of MDF and a fishing reel mechanism. They produce the sound of a scrap metal yard in deep pain under water. What a guy. Genre Experimental
