The Wrong Direction by Amanda Brite published on 2023-01-17T20:58:53Z I wrote this song on a plane ride home to New Jersey from Texas in 2007. We were visiting some relatives and I didn't want to leave, because I saw a path to an upbringing that would make me a better person and it was being taken away by us going home. We were a family that often complained about the area, the weather, the cost of living, and the attitude of where we lived, yet did nothing to make a change. There was a place right in front of us that had a lower cost of living, warmer weather, and our family members seemed to be doing well and making a better life for themselves. I wanted us to be more like them. So on the ride home, I heard this song in my head. I was 12 years old at the time. Recently I finally recorded the song with the help of Zaki Ali and Steve Boyer (you can find them on Instagram @zakialinj and @steveboyerjr) at Cinderella Man Studios (Cinderellamanstudios.com) Hope y'all enjoy it.
