Andrew A Kutt Andrew Kutt Washington, D.C. Andrew Kutt’s lifelong love and passion for music began as a young child, listening to his older brother Peter play classical greats on the piano. Andrew picked up his first musical instrument at age 15 – a 4-string banjo – and shortly thereafter bought a Yamaha guitar with money he saved from working his first job at Joe’s Market. Andrew began teaching himself the guitar, learning his favorite songs from the radio and quickly began composing some of his own. Many years and hundreds of songs later, Andrew has refined a style of songwriting that is Americana in flavor, but also echoes the popular songs and the rock traditions he grew to love as a boy. Messages of love, peace, healing and redemption extend throughout Andrew’s music and poetry. Andrew’s lyrics and melodies express his belief in the power of music. He says, “Music can free our minds so we can dream a new world.” Andrew’s prolific songwriting continues and he enjoys sharing his art and his message with the world. When he is not writing or playing music, Andrew spends his day as Head of School at Oneness-Family School in Chevy Chase, Maryland. In 2013, Andrew released two new CDs: a pop rock CD entitled Rock, Love, Peace, produced by Phillip Stevenson, and Earth Songs – a collection of original songs for children produced by Russell Premik Tubbs. Andrew performs solo as well as shows with his band Purple Martin. To learn more click: www.purplemartinmusic.com.
