Gourou by Ariad Music published on 2023-02-08T02:08:57Z This music goes with the 3rd chapter of a tale I'm writing and illustrating. I just published it here: https://ariad-music.com/textes/chapitre-3-guruguss/ It is in french, but I guess google translate or deepl can do a decent job for translating. This is the story of a headless character who explores the world of dreams in order to find again his head. In this third chapter, he discovers he's not alone in this situation and follows a guru. I did the music tonight with my keyboard, really simple, only MIDI/VST tracks. Quick resume to explain the music: 00:00 - 00:15: The headless character is happy, he believes he found his head. 00:15 - 01:30: His friend the magical bird reveals him that he just hallucinated. He tries to console him and bring him to the crooked city. 01:30 - 03:40: The headless character find a group of headless people watching a show. He joins them and listen to a guru's speech. 03:40 - 07:10: Enchanted, he enters in the guru's spaceship, listen some of his bullshit speech and then realizes this sect is not great. The others reject him and he sees how shitty looks in reality their spaceship. 07:10 - 07:40: Finally, even if he didn't find his head, he's happy like this. Really nice choice of instruments. I swear that vibraphone sounds like a videogame synth :0 2023-03-26T14:51:50Z Comment by Azurium Oo the beats are back! Just like a happy walk of the headless character, it's full of swag. 😎 2023-03-26T14:50:15Z Comment by Patros15 Interesting and weird <3 2023-03-23T18:34:49Z Comment by Omelette of Mars une pièce inventive (notamment pour l'instrumentation) aux parties très contrastées et colorées! 2023-03-20T14:15:06Z Comment by Jeff Roberts without any real basis I wanna say this has a very Japanese feel to it (the flutes?) I like the serendipity and linear experience. This comment below was great: "sorte d'"Alice" kafkaïenne et acidulée" 2023-03-14T14:36:40Z Comment by arse-myth a truly joyous creation 2023-03-01T20:26:24Z Comment by GrevusAnjl I love those fluttery harp sequences; very playful element. And if that cover art is one of your illustrations from the book, very nice indeed. That's a whimsical image. :) 2023-02-27T20:17:44Z Comment by GrevusAnjl I like the story that goes with this. Interesting character. Very creative idea. The music gave me impressions of 'dance of the happy butterflies'. :) 2023-02-27T20:14:11Z Comment by Naughty Temple So child-like and nostalgic. Thank you for creating this. ^^ 2023-02-25T07:16:52Z Comment by Tea R. Sea Very trippy and original work my friend, love the pitch modulation toward the end here especially 2023-02-24T19:01:56Z Comment by Terry Wigmore well this has been quite a delightful exploration of ideas in sound, art, and text. I have been poking around on your Ariad website, read along with Ch 3 of your marvelously illustrated headless adventure (the style is, to me, very Monty Python -esque in its conceptualization). And then to read about Hideo, and the merging of rhythmic and melodic sounds - all of it is so fascinating. An intoxicating dive down a rabbit hole of wonder. Congratulations on all of your ambitious endeavours, Alain! Thank you for the detailed notes for "Gourou". You developed the music perfectly for the story. Kudos for such ideas and the talent to deliver them. :) 2023-02-19T11:01:11Z Comment by Paul Maurice Roche, Composer ok...how much for drums? I want now 2023-02-17T08:00:22Z Comment by Paul Maurice Roche, Composer I want those drums....me...for me... 2023-02-17T07:27:28Z Comment by Paul Maurice Roche, Composer The percussion blows my doors off at 0:53 et seq. Great track 2023-02-17T01:03:55Z Comment by Amekaze Hanako-syokudo I am deeply moved by this song. The reason is that I feel the solid feel of music that combines electronic sounds, sampling sounds, and the sounds of played instruments. A sense of unity is not something you can find in everyone's music. Nice music.
