ASHFIELDS are an exciting five-piece indie pop band from the dark corners of Nottingham. The lads have already achieved a sell-out EP launch show at Nottingham’s famous venue ‘The Bodega’, reached the finals of Firestone Battle of the Bands which saw them play at Birmingham arena before Biffy Clyro and Brand New. They have also played to a sold-out Rock City supporting The Sherlocks, headlined the famous ‘Rescue Rooms’, sold out their first out of town headline show in Manchester and now nominated as ‘Best Rock Act 2018’ at The UMA Awards.
It doesn’t stop there for ASHFIELDS with a HUGE support show for The ________ on the horizon, Splendour Festival, mainstage Jimmy’s festival and their very own headline tour.
ASHFIELDS fan base is vastly growing, racking up over 4000 Facebook likes in less than two years, over 150,000 accumulated Spotify listens since April 2017 and over 25,000 YouTube views in the last several months.
ASHFIELDS formed late 2015 with Louis, Carl, Thomas, Boam and Jay. Originating from the small mining towns of Sutton-in-Ashfield and Kirkby-in-Ashfield, the band started when cousins and guitarists Carl and Tom decided there was more to the poor council town than pillaging and carjacking. Within months of forming and writing music the lads saw themselves out of the local pubs and into the heart of Nottingham’s thriving music scene, supporting bands such as Amber Run, All Tvvins, The Sherlocks, Judas, King No-One, Redfaces, Teleman and many, many more. The lads saw themselves in 2016 break the record within Nottingham, the record being for a band to have the most number of support slots in one year between Bodega and Rescue Rooms (16 Times), this helped the band sell out their own show in April 2017 and move up to a headline show at Rescue Rooms on December 16th 2017 (very close to another sell out).
ASHFIELDS have been branded as the most hard-working band to brace Nottingham’s popular music scene, their efforts to market themselves and their shows is incredible for an unsigned band with no management. They were known for bringing more people to shows than the bands they were supporting and now being on a very short list of unsigned Nottingham bands to sell out the Bodega, and now a close repeat at Rescue Rooms.
Festival season 2017 was ASHFIELDS first real taste at the festival scene, starting with Nottingham’s famous Dot to Dot Festival. Dot to Dot 2017 saw ASHFIELDS open main stage Rock City for the likes of Amber Run, Sundara Karma, The Big Moon, The Night Cafe and many more. To get main stage across 42 different stages and venues was a big deal and saw the start of ASHFIELDS being a regular to bigger capacity venues.
Festival season didn’t stop with Dot to Dot, the band managed to secure a headline slot at Nottingham’s biggest unsigned music festival ‘Riverside Festival’. 2018 has now seen ASHFIELDS with a repeat at Dot to Dot Festival, set to perform at the famous Splendour festival with the like of Poloma Faith, Embrace and the amazing Peace, main stage Jimmy’s Festival with Happy Mondays and now Mansion on the Moon supporting The Libertines.
ASHFIELDS Released their debut EP titled ‘NEW SKIN’ on April 8th, 2017 with a sold-out show at The Bodega (220 Cap), since the release the EP has racked up an accumulated over 150,000 listens on Spotify with the single ‘Is It Alright Now’ featured weekly on Spotify’s ‘Discover Weekly’ playlists.
