This a collab between me and Kaya, We originally discussed it and planned it to be a piano song and we had a few references, and the song turned out to be of similar structure and compositional ideas but with a pretty different feel, in fact finding a title for it and being able to picture an image behind the song ended up being harder than the making of the song itself, at the end it ended up being the First Snow due to the high piano notes having a somewhat cold feel to them and due the day of the first snow always being a memorable one with lots of different emotions and experiences which the song seems to have trough its different sections. Both me and kaya seemed to have went in different directions in terms of emotion when composing, which ended up creating what I would call a nice contrast overall. Hoping you enjoy the song!
Kaya's message: Hey, kaya here. Honestly, this is my first time writing a description for a piece, haha. Moreover, this whole project is a bunch of new things I always wanted to experience but I've never got a chance. Like, my first collab ever, first time writing and performing a full piece, making sheets of it even, which is why I am super proud of myself and also thankful to Astolsko for pulling me out of my comfort zone of endless improvs and short tracks that I'm never intending to post anywhere, and making my mind go ultimate thonk over structure, transitions, harmony and stuff. This piece was very fun to work on despite the fact I couldn't find enough time for practice and only came back to it when I was less busy.
Regarding the piece itself... Uh, turned out I don't understand it lol. I mean, the whole composition process was like discussing what to do and going with the feel, so we didn't put much meaning into it (and ended up struggling to give it a proper title lol). Anyway, I tried my best to convey emotions put into the piece, even though I can't really describe them. Also, this performance isn't the best, no, it has many flaws but it does its job pretty well, I think. I'd say, I am happy about my performance, even. I hope you'll like the sound of me desperately smashing keys of my piano and also... I hope it reaches you.
