The myriad metropolises I've visited in my time support that concept. Each one has a unique feel, an aesthetic and timbre that is distinct to that landscape. If one stands on Main Street during the busiest time of day, or prowls downtown at precisely the deepest part of night, one can clearly hear the breathing of the concrete beast, the cracking of bricks and steel beams that is its spine, and the rumble of cars and citizens that is its sleep cycle.
