HERSTEL (recovery) by Bas Kooman published on 2019-08-31T15:59:14Z [Rough translation] RECOVERY When, after a fever and despair and physically intolerable misery, I step by step returned to the world, everything sounded new again. In words that I knew from childhood I recognized the true sense; almost every 'and' hid an 'et cetera' in the beginning, words had no ending But I healed and this ecstasy disappeared: sounds were again just sounds, and what was said around me was the same nonsense as always. One must forgive me that I increasingly keep my mouth shut.
