Bryce Quartz

(He/Him) - forever doing the most - artist - writer - rapper
Bryce Quartz is a queer rapper currently based in Queens, NY. Born & raised in Randleman, NC, Bryce spent his adolescence stuck in the closet. Even with an interest in music & poetry throughout his life, he didn’t fully embrace his passion for it until late 2017.
In 2018, Bryce released “American Queer, Vol. 1: Reloaded,” a culmination of songs exploring the depths of his rage, sadness, & desperation for freedom while in the closet.
In 2019, Bryce released “American Queer, Vol. 2: Baphomet's Gift,” which showed a transition in his music away from family matters & more into controversial and political statements, with songs such as “Make America Gay Again” & “F.U. (Falwell University).” Bryce was promptly banned from Liberty University in June of 2019 over the music video for “F.U. (Falwell University)” due to the vulgar commentary on what the school stands for & from burning his student ID on the founder’s “eternal flame” grave.
Following this activism work, he created a monthly queer-only live music showcase in Greensboro, with appearances from Jaye Naima, CJ Run, & Lovey The Don. Due to the pandemic, this showcase has been put on hold, with a planned return for when it’s safe.
In October of 2020, Bryce released the queer voter anthem “You Brita Vote, Kay?” w/ Brita Filter from RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12, & bearded beauty KayKay Lavelle. This song landed features from RuPaul’s Drag Race, NewNowNext, LogoTV, Queerty, Instinct Magazine, & Bear World Magazine.
In March of 2021, Bryce released his third mixtape titled “American Queer, Vol. 3: Third Times A Charm” that charted #48 on the iTunes Hip-Hop charts and garnered press from Xtra Magazine, OutFront Magazine, and Bear World Magazine.
In May of 2021, Bryce amassed over 300k views on Tik Tok for a gay remix of TOKYO’S REVENGE’ “GOODMORNINGTOKYO” titled “Goodmorningbq!” The song has since amassed over 125k streams across all streaming platforms with no press or promotion.
In October of 2021, Bryce dropped his collab hyperpop EP with xMetalMouthx titled “Controller” that peaked at #24 on the iTunes Pop Charts and #156 on the All Genres iTunes Charts.
Since then, Bryce has moved to Brooklyn, NY where he freelance writes for Bear World Magazine and Rock The Pigeon Music Blog, and had been vaulting his new music until the best of the best are ready for release in 2022.
