Carlos Roque Perez
Singapore
His origins in Spain, but born and raised in Basel (Switzerland), Carlos Roque Perez found his interest in music early days. His journey began during his university days, where he showcased his talent at various Uni Parties and even founded a renowned House Event called kinky.house. These early events in the early 2000s served as catalysts, propelling Roque into the limelight as a well-established DJ and promoter in Basel. His remarkable skills secured him residencies at the city's most prestigious clubs and bars, solidifying his reputation as a formidable force in the local music scene.
Under the alias Charles Per-S, Roque captivated audiences with his distinct sound. In 2005, a significant milestone arrived when he joined the ranks of livingroom.fm as a radio show and became a resident of the weekly show and the acclaimed N8akt event series. It was during this period that Roque unveiled his alter egos: Roque le Char and Roque. These personas allowed him the artistic freedom to explore diverse music preferences, with Roque le Char gravitating towards disco, house, soul, funk, and rare grooves, while Roque developed into deep, afro, melodic, and pure techno sounds. Whether in a bar or on a dancefloor, Roque's electrifying sets compelled heads to nod and bodies to move, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
Roque ventured into the studio alongside one of his business partners, resulting in collaborative musical endeavors. One such collaboration was with Paulussen, culminating in the release of "Song Song Song".

Another notable partnership emerged with C-Rock, formerly a member of MotorCitySoul, and their joint efforts produced the "Together EP," released on Ghetto Rhythms, a Ukrainian sub-label of Manifest Records.

While many of their productions remained in the pipeline, Roque's former business partner relocating to Thailand presented new opportunities for him to refine and release these tracks in the near future, promising exciting releases ahead.
Furthermore, Roque (CRP) had the privilege of releasing music under the project name Digital Human, a collaboration with Basel-based brothers Corsin and Gabe Bader. Notably, their releases under the esteemed UK label Midnight Riot in 2014 received widespread acclaim, including a top ten ranking in the Juno Disco/Nu-Disco Charts and a vinyl pressing of "Over You."

Relocating to Singapore three years ago, Roque immersed himself in the vibrant local scene, making appearances at renowned venues such as Mandala Club, Rumours Beach Club, and Potato Head as part of the DJ Dispensary collective. Eager to further explore his creative pursuits, he remains dedicated to returning to the studio, driven to produce future releases under existing and hopefully new project names. Stay tuned for the exciting musical journey that lies ahead with Roque (CRP).
