If that gets adapted into a movie that would be awesome-- might even almost make up for the nightmare world we live in that inspired it 2017-10-10T20:44:33Z Comment by Firenza The video of the dude jumping up on the counter at McDonalds and screaming about Pickle Rick and Szechwan sauce might be the turning point in getting broader society to agree that all workers deserve at least $15/hour. 2017-10-10T20:15:21Z Comment by RonJon McBlurgerson "I claim that melancholy occurs not when we lose the object, but precisely when the object is here but we lose the desire for it. This is why modern philosophical subject cogito is deeply melancholic. Everything is here, but you no longer desire it. And so I claim that this is the enigma of modernity. It’s not some kind of protestant ethics which prohibits I don’t know what. It’s that you lose desire, and prohibitions come — precisely a desperate, secondary attempt to resuscitate desire." — Slavoj Žižek, from Melancholia And The Cartesian Subject 2017-10-10T20:15:16Z Comment by AllTriggering that and the cia i think 2017-10-10T18:44:05Z Comment by Matt Hunsaker LMAO Matt's Zizek 2017-10-10T18:30:37Z Comment by Assandro Journey It's dissapointing that Chapos don't want to have some sort of debates between different camps. Because debates about certain arguments and positions on left and right don't exist anymore in US political culture. At least leftists, liberals and identity politics crowd must debate their positions with each other. Nobody debates identity defenders or deconstructs their weak positions and arguments. How many political comedy shows do we need really? I have an issue with whole notion of political shows as entertainment. Politics can't be entertainment. That's why whole politics is fucked up in US after decades of comedicalization (Stewart et cet). People aren't capable to understand serious issues unless they are packed into commercialized one hour comedy show. If Chapos insist on being mere entertainment, then okay. But then stop talking about politics. I'm not sure turning politics into comedy talk shows a good thing. 2017-10-10T18:25:16Z Comment by AllTriggering Remember, this guy was probably paid via patreon for this. late capitalism everybody! 2017-10-10T18:20:19Z Comment by DRAB NEON best part of the podcast 2017-10-10T18:17:39Z Comment by professorAMinus uh lmao you're implying Donald Trump was not a nostalgic character 2017-10-10T16:04:10Z
