REIN for orchestra (2018/19) by Katharina Rosenberger published on 2019-11-12T15:15:44Z REIN (Rhaeto-Romanic for the river Rhine) speaks of severe challenges threatening the Rhine and other rivers due to climate change and drought. Rivers are vital arteries, and this music reflects on their life-sustaining essence, and the environmental precariousness of the world, we currently live in. REIN has been commissioned by ZeitRäume Basel for the Basel Sinfonietta. World premier September 15, 2019 under the baton of Baldur Brönnimann, @Mitteldeck Basel, on the river Rhine Recorded by Swiss Radio SRF 2 Genre contemporary orchestra Comment by stefan.strasser Fantastic piece! 2023-09-09T14:41:26Z Comment by Nation of No One Sounds like Penderecki 2022-01-03T12:31:19Z Comment by LightCone It sounds tense. 2021-06-14T12:54:16Z Comment by Bernhard Zitz The opening throws one in the water without forewarning. The succession is an even intenser experience. There seems to be a big threat, the river ill-treated. Sublime recording, with headphones you sit in the middle of the orchestra, not in front as with most recordings. You feel like participating, not just observing. With the rather dry and small room everything stays clear and focused, it fits well the composition. 2021-02-19T22:59:13Z Comment by SFJ I'm surprised to be the first to comment on how impressive this music sounds 2021-02-12T13:30:10Z
