Which is why it cuts infrequently, becuase he knows how to shoot for action 2021-08-30T02:08:47Z Comment by Tommy Thorsen just rewatched The Matrix last night. It's both very progressive and extremely influential. It and the sequels really paved the way for the comic book movies. Everyone was chasing the matrix 2021-08-30T01:35:36Z Comment by Tommy Thorsen Audio quality is fine. Thank you for taking the situation seriously. 2021-08-30T01:22:15Z Comment by CirrusMinor That Black Mirror episode was writter by Michael Schur and Rashida Jones of all people. 2021-08-26T08:20:36Z Comment by CirrusMinor I'm also gonna mention Ben Stiller in claiming that Permanent Midnight delivers the same message much more effectively than Requiem For A Dream. 2021-08-26T07:59:07Z Comment by Dan Harvey Do you guys ever find yourself torn as to which side to take in a movie? I recently rewatched Law Abiding Citizen and, while I don't condone the killing carried out by Gerard Butler's character, I feel that it's everyone's fantasy to get revenge on those who have wronged them, and if you had the knowledge and ability you would do something like this (again maybe with a bit less killing). So I'm kind of disappointed that in the end Jamie Foxx is able to outsmart him. 2021-08-25T06:54:54Z Comment by Will R I literally paused the podcast, opened HBO Max and rewatched the Birds of Prey funhouse scene. And it is pretty fun, and likely has less cuts than most MCU stuff, however, it still has a LOT of cuts 2021-08-24T22:25:05Z Comment by Steven Thomas obscure sports quarterly 2021-08-24T21:15:43Z Comment by Bruce N H On Arrival, I really disagree with your interpretation. I don't think the question is whether having her child will somehow mess up the circular timeline, that she is trading her daughter dying of cancer vs saving the planet. I think it is simply the question of whether her daughter's brief life and the experience of love is worth her daughter's pain and death and the loss that will bring. It's a question we all face. I know that my kids will face pain and will someday die. I hope and pray that will be many decades in the future with as little pain as possible, but it will happen nonetheless. All of us will get sick. All of us will die. All of us will mourn the loss of loved ones. It may be next week or it may be in ninety years. The only difference here was that Amy Adams' character knew exactly when and how her daughter would die, but she chose the option of hope and love anyway. 2021-08-24T19:13:44Z Comment by Dan Harvey Could you guys do a section on good and bad trailers? I know some of you avoid them now, I usually do too. But I've just watched the New Spider-Man trailer and I think it's one of the best for a long time. It actually managed to get me more exited for the movie. 2021-08-24T13:07:53Z Comment by CirrusMinor I agree with Chris. I think the rape scene in Clockwork is... downplayed? At first I thought he was showing how monstrous Alex is, but upon repeat viewings, I start to see this as "Alex is doing this to hurt the husband, the woman is an accessory to what happens" and it really disturbs me. Remembering what decade this film was made, I'm honestly not sure Kubrick took rape as seriously as it should be. 2021-08-24T09:38:59Z Comment by CirrusMinor Hahaha no "LaBute" is not French for "the butt", Barrett. 2021-08-24T09:16:18Z Comment by Steven Thomas I think you guys have a better chemistry in the room than remotely, probbaly just because of a slight delay over the internet, or something like that, and there is a slight dip in the quality, but fuck that, you guys have totally done the right thing! A message for anyone who doesn't believe covid is dangerous, or that the vaccine isn't safe, or that it's all made up: you're a dickhead. Keep up the good work, n stay safe! 2021-08-23T21:41:22Z Comment by Mark Ritz Married/Family housing is pretty common. I had some at Central Michigan in grad school. Most of north campus at U of Michigan is family housing. 2021-08-23T15:00:29Z Comment by Ben Carlson A Face in the Crowd! I’m so happy that got a mention, one of my all time favorites with one of the most underrated and layered performances of all time by Andy Griffith of all people 2021-08-23T13:52:30Z Comment by Mark Ritz I thought for sure it was a gymnast double for the Harley foot unlock scene, then I read the same thing Jeremy read. It sure looks like she is amazing! 2021-08-23T13:04:10Z Comment by Adam Lueck Strange Brew is the best version of Hamlet. 2021-08-23T12:40:04Z
