Synne Sanden - Imitation by Compro Artists published on 2018-12-11T13:03:57Z Synne Sanden is an expressive and experimental popartist from Norway. In her new direction she writes about shameful subjects, the things we’re not supposed to say out loud. Her upcoming album IMITATION is about wanting to be someone else and is a personal description of self-loathing, inferiority and envy. The album is a travel through a destructive mind and from an old, trembling self. It’s about the longing for being better and freer and the inspiration for growth. The album is produced by Thomas Dybdahl, Bugge Wesseltoft, Lars Fremmerlid and herself. On the album she has her eminent band in the team. Axel Skalstad (drums), Julie Falkevik (organ and piano), Henrik Schmidt (guitar), Julie Kleive (backingvocals) and co-producer Lars Fremmerlid (bass) are all giving characteristic contributions where they let the songs bloom. Kenneth Lien (fiddle) is also guesting on three of the songs. On the album they have found a unique style and sound that is not based on trend, but is timeless and where the lyrics always are the seeds. Synne Sanden has her own way of singing and writing where she is free of rules and uses the full spectre to create songs that are aggressive, wild and tender and soft which makes the album into an interesting, emotional and nourishing piece of art. Her main influences are Björk, Radiohead and Portishead, but also different kind of song-traditions. She has a pouring-it-all-out way of singing where she releases what lays in the deepest layer of her body. She is as explosive as she is sore and her songs are written directly from the core.
