Stories of Old - The Memory of a Childhood Hymn by Christopher Larkins | Composer published on 2021-09-11T12:12:57Z When I was child growing up in the UK, I attempted to sing a fairly well known children's hymn "When a Knight Won His Spurs". I say attempted, because I cannot sing in tune. Needless-to-say, the melody, or at least my memory of that melody has stayed with me all these years and I felt inspired to try to capture that memory and childhood enthusiasm in this piece. Hope you enjoy and thank you for listening. Genre Piano Comment by fpmorinstudio Magnifique 2022-04-29T13:56:09Z Comment by Michel Rivera Great perfomance! Very delicate tune... This is beautiful. 2021-09-29T14:53:21Z Comment by Mariza Costa-Cabral Christopher, I relate to the feeling of reconnecting with, and reinterpreting, a memory that stayed with us from childhood and carries with it so much of our personal world. I feel happy for you that you've done this. Musically speaking, I found some parts of it to be quite touching and convincing. I was glad to have listened. 2021-09-29T08:19:50Z Comment by March Rhyme So nice... 2021-09-28T06:28:50Z Comment by Liz Dicker what a lovely piece Christopher, enjoyed listening.... 2021-09-25T14:11:54Z Comment by Krishnamorte Very sweet! 2021-09-21T07:03:17Z Comment by TSM A very pretty piece, and I love the story of how you came record this! 2021-09-21T00:54:55Z Comment by Joseph Haspel You’ve set the fine, simple tune in a gorgeous musical landscape - those moments of extreme simplicity with just a few notes supporting the tune I found especially nice - beautifully done Christopher! - thank you! 2021-09-18T20:28:33Z Comment by Hans-Peter Sommeregger Very interesting and unexpected developments in this beautiful piece 2021-09-15T19:19:48Z Comment by gaspar monterde Presioso! 2021-09-12T19:07:48Z
