Dan J Gonda Dan Gonda Los Angeles, CA Dan is a progressing woodwind doubler, currently playing with the Angel City Big Band, Funky G's Soul Machine (funk/soul cover band), and The Toshi Hiroshima Jazz Quintet. He had been very involved with the Colburn School, playing saxophones and flute in an Adult Studies Jazz Combo as well as flute and piccolo in the Adult Flute Choir. He also plays clarinet in the Freedom Band and served as Secretary on the Board of Directors for 2 years. He started playing piccolo as of 2014 and bass clarinet as of 2015. He currently studies all of his horns with Dick Mitchell, one of the top studio/session musicians in LA. As well as having a day job in IT, he runs www.horns4hire.com, a horn-section-for-hire website that has been getting himself and a small network of wind instrument players performance, recording, and arranging work in Los Angeles since 2012. He's had an ongoing client for the past year who he has transcribed horn parts for 40 funk/soul songs (so far) as part of Funky G's Soul Machine and plays with a jazz combo at Monopole Wine Bar once a month. He recently started arranging horns parts. He arranged a horn line for "Fever" for flute, alto saxophone, and 2 tenor saxophones for the Colburn Jazz Combo's Spring 2015 performance and a medley of "Born to be Wild" and "Satisfaction" for trumpet and tenor sax for Janet Robin, one of Guitar World's top 10 female guitar players of 2013. His notable credits include being part of the on-camera orchestra for Carly Rae Jepsen on Access Hollywood Live and part of the EP release show band for Michael O ("The Sing-Off" season 3). He also recorded all of the sax parts for "Nothing to Report", a Comedy Central web series starring Chris Jericho. He improves and adds skills as a musician year by year with the goal of playing music full-time.
