Sweet Pea (Featuring Kellie Rowley) by Dan Lockhart published on 2016-02-03T17:57:53Z I started on this a while back. I used it as a vehicle to practice pedal steel in a 12 bar blues format. It helped me a lot in learning patterns. I sent it to Kellie and she developed this great story that sounds like a traditional (old style) country song. The kind of song they don't make any more. I went back and edited the pedal steel until I was comfortable. We then played around with it. Towards the end I added the sound of an old record playing at the beginning and end. Kellie is such a great partner on this journey. She took to heart the traditional country feel. She did a fantastic job of channeling a country singer from the 50's on this song. Sweet Pea Lyrics: Kellie Rowley Sometimes it seems like it will be winter forever But I know the spring is just around the corner Here in your arms, I'm a budding vine and you're my April rain sinking in Here in your arms, I'm your sweet pea again When you call my name, my heart just starts to thaw and blossoms come up from the ground the birds start to sing and I'm your sweet pea again I'm your sweet pea once again I'm your budding vine and you're my April rain sinking in When you call my name I'm your sweet pea again Sweet pea Sweet pea sweet pea won't cha call me Sweet pea Visit Kellie's great songs at: https://soundcloud.com/kellie-rowley Genre country Comment by Jennie Tidwell NICE VOCALS 2022-11-13T13:01:07Z Comment by Riff Beach Most enjoyed the pedal steel, Dan, and Kellie's vocals are indeed sublime. :D))) 2022-07-25T16:13:12Z Comment by Earnie MusikLogo well done! 2020-02-28T10:08:29Z Comment by trish daniel sweet! 2019-04-19T12:35:20Z Comment by Andreas Noll Very nice song, country feeling 2019-01-08T07:05:12Z Comment by Three Photons classy sound and production.
