Del Sutton
Kansas City
About Me:
I'm Del Sutton, hailing from the heartland of Kansas City, Missouri. My journey through music has been a diverse one, thanks to the influences of my parents. My father instilled in me a deep appreciation for traditional country music, while my mother introduced me to the enchanting worlds of Broadway musicals and opera. With such a broad spectrum of musical tastes at home, I had the privilege of immersing myself in a wide range of melodies and lyrics.
In my youth, my dad and I often ventured to country shows in Kansas City, Kansas, where I found myself singing along with the likes of Marty Robbins, Eddie Arnold, Jim Reeves, and a special affinity for the country music of the 80s, including artists such as the Gatlin Brothers, Alabama, Clint Black, George Strait, Tim McGraw, as well as iconic figures like Bob Dylan, Dan Fogelberg, and John Denver.
Music has been a constant companion in my life. I've been singing and performing for as long as I can remember, and I began crafting my own songs at the tender age of 15. Over the years, I've composed an extensive collection of over 400 songs, each meticulously copyrighted, with the distinction of being the sole writer.
My professional journey in the world of music has been marked by a passion for teaching. I've dedicated over 29 years to nurturing the talents of young voices in both public schools and churches. I'm a proud graduate of Ottawa University, with a degree in music, and I hold an unwavering love for a well-crafted, melodic tune.
What sets my songs apart is the unwavering commitment to crafting melodies that are not only captivating but also resonate with both artists and audiences. My songwriting repertoire spans multiple genres, from country to worship and praise, patriotic anthems to seasonal tunes, with a particular fondness for creating heartwarming Christmas songs and inspirational pieces.
My aspiration is to connect my songs with the right artists and companies, offering a rich tapestry of music that can be performed and cherished by new and emerging talents.
