David and music is an affair of more than 15 years. From collecting to gigging David’s profession is music. He has DJ’d all over Europe, Africa , the US and made his first appearance in the UAE three years ago. David played regularly at the regions’ biggest clubs before moving into his resident office at Nasimi Beach Atlantis. A diverse affair from down-tempo sun down lounge mid-week to full on club anthems at the weekend for guest nights like Pacha, Hed Kandi, Nikki Beach, Defected, Ministry of Sound and Café Del Mar.
David delivers ambiance in his sets serving up hip-hop, through nu-jazz to broken beat and house. But never straying far from his soulful roots! David’s style has complimented a diverse range of brands like MTV, Barbican, G-Star, Joes Jeans, Diesel, Nokia Live, Adidas, Ford, Virgin Megastore, Sony, Red Bull Street Style , Smirnoff Experience, Heiniken and Nestle making him a sought after DJ in advertising, promotions and corporate events.
This year alone he has featured at the private after parties of Usher, Estelle, Sugar Hill Gang, D12; Warm up DJ for Emeli Sande, Guru, Jill Scott and Nightmares on Wax; Toured this summer at The Agoraphones Festival in France and the world famous Southport weekender in the UK alongside acts like Robert Glasper, Jazzy Jeff, Patrice Rushen and Jill Scott.
Other recent highlights include concert warm ups for Stevie Wonder Soul II Soul, Faithless and the Brand New Heavies, Alexander O’Neal, Rose Royce, Jackie Graham and Odyssey. David is a regular fixture on the Sandance Festival roster in Dubai and has shared the stage there with 2 Many Djs, Snow Partol, Kaiser Chiefs, Robin S, Zane Lowe, Basement Jaxx, Example, Groove Armada , Calvin Harris and the Script. He also played Dubai Sound City and closed the Chill Out Festival taking over from Erykah Badu, Royksopp , Aim and the Cinematic Orchestra.
David’s production and broadcast credits include work with Urbanscot, Blacksheep Magazine, Soul Interviews, Vox, DJ Magazine and previously Blues and Soul interviewing artists like Emeli Sande, Jazzy-B, Gym Class Heroes and Neyo. He produced and presented video and audio for BBC Radio 1xtra and Channel 4 Talent covering subjects as diverse as the life of a former child soldier, the UK smoking ban and on location at concerts and festivals.
Irrefutably David has earned his reputations as ‘The nicest guy in music’. Gentleman, professionally cool and harbouring a secret super power of being able to deliver the exact music that the crowd wants to flow to.
