WHO IS DJ TRIPLE THREAT?
Hustle. Grind. Determination. The DJ Holy Trinity. Not many encompass the tri effect, but the embodiment in work, skills, and NAME is the Puerto Rican success story: DJ TRIPLE THREAT. This Bronx born, self taught, musical encyclopedia, poses his ‘threat’ with the ability to work not two, but three turntables at one time. We’re not talking IPOD’s, Serato, or DJ Hero – Triple Threat is the real deal…
HUSTLE: Beginning his rise to acclaim in 1997, now 13 years in the business, a young Triple Threat was fascinated by Radio DJ’s and dedicated his time to Mix shows, with influences like DJ Funk Master Flex, and Red Alert. Knowing he had skills to acquire and dues to pay he joined efforts with good friend DJ Mike Sessions and together they worked towards a common goal which led to the one in a lifetime chance to apprentice for mentor and well known DJ Cipha Sounds of HOT97, an influential and HIP HOP culture based station in New York City.
GRIND: After recognizing his calling, non-stop practicing, and hard core dedication, Triple Threat began to master the club scene, working such venues as the famous Copa Cabana, Exit, Deep, Avalon, and NYC Staples such as China Club, Jimmy’s, and Club Hollywood – just to name a few. Most DJ’s spend their entire careers trying to land a gig at such locations, while Triple Threat simply used them as another night to perfect his craft. In 2006 DJ Triple Threat alongside DJ Caoz was nominated for The Best Mix tape Duo Collaboration by Street MOS Magazine Mix tape Awards. The first of many accolades to come. It wasn’t long after that some of the industries finest would begin to take notice. By 2007, the most respected and sought after DJ and role model to Triple Threat, Funk master Flex asked DJ Triple Threat to join his team. Humble and honored Triple Threat entered the ranks of greatness and began to DJ for the FUNKMASTER FLEX CUSTOM CAR AND BIKE SHOW’s. During these major events he had the opportunity to spin for the likes of Maino, David Banner, Jim Jones, and Hip Hop royalty Raekwon. Adding not only experience, but major notches to his belt. As the rest become local celebrities and never make it out their borough, Triple Threat has worked in several cities, and countries including but not limited to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Toronto, Miami, Atlanta, Texas, Connecticut, Detroit, Bermuda, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania…
DETERMINATION: In early 2009 DJ Triple Threat joined forces with online radio pioneers DTF, and launched his own online radio show entitled “The Speaker Box” with co-host Melody. By late 2009 showing no signs of slowing down, he created the Official Remix for the 50 Cent song “Baby By Me” and notably got the attention of the artist and producers who put his remix version on rotation for Hot 97. DJ Triple Threat is on the one way lane, full speed ahead to fulfilling his dreams of being a radio DJ and household name. With growing potential, aggression, and assertiveness, this one man show is on the ‘now or never’ plan, with no fear, and only hungry for more!
