Doa Beezy Chicago Chicago rapper/singer Doa Beezy evolved from a more hard-edged rap style into a melodic and partially sung approach that kept with the movement of melodic rappers coming out of his city in the late 2010s. Moody, shifting instrumentals and lyrics about street struggles and surviving traumatic environments made up a series of singles like the emotionally heavy "Streetz Done." Doa Beezy was raised on the South Side of Chicago and was rapping by his teens. He first made music under the name DoeBoi Flexx, self-releasing tracks and mixtapes throughout the mid-2010s. Around the end of the decade, the rapper rebranded himself Doa Beezy, switching his style up to a more melodic approach but keeping the intensity and streetwise storytelling of his developing lyrical style. His first single, "Streetz Done," arrived in the summer of 2019, and he quickly followed it with new songs every few weeks for the next two months. Songs like "Fasho," "Gang Forever," and "Viewed" continued the rapper's smooth and hook-heavy style. Doa Beezy has since then grown after dropping his 3 projects Trauma Child 1, Chiraq Baby, & Trauma Child 2. His latest project features another Chicago native G Herbo. Their hit song “Raq Baby” has picked up some steam and is setting Chicago on fire right now. A needed Chicago anthem that has been slowly making Doa one of the hottest rappers to come out of Chicago since the Polo G, CalBoy, and Lil Zay Osama wave. Growing up in the Auburn Gresham area of Chicago Doa uses his experiences and tells vivid stories in his lyrics, tracks like “Streets Know” solidify Doa in Chicago stamping his hood which is popular in the streets not so popular mainstream. Soon he plans to put the world onto where he’s from.
