Double Vanity released their pioneering debut album 'Love to Leave You' out 30 Sept 2022 to much international acclaim.
'Love To Leave You,' is out now through Psychic Hysteria. Mixed and mastered by Naomune Anzai (Teskey Brothers + Cash Savage and the Last Drinks)the concept album captures ice-cool realms of feminine love, loss, ghosts, and algorithms in answer to the feminist fires of Plaster of Paris' sisterband 2021 release, Lost Familiar, of which all three are members.
Single, Night Moves was released with video Directed by luminary Geoffrey O'Connor in a dreamy, pink limo, champagne afterparty haze the single charted at #1 on Soundcloud's Re-Ex Top 40 Underground Electronic Charts in 2022. US music mag, Austin Town Hall were “drawn to the majesty” of the vocals and music and was described by vocalist Zec Zechner as;
“a trip into 2062, a nuclear storm is endlessly roars outside the window, of a single thirty-something A.I. House Bot, donning kitchen apron and platinum blonde hair is burning the dinner and swirling on the checkered kitchen linoleum floor, on which the the oven drips smoky haze. Alexxa simulates day-dreams, for the long-lost dancefloor with her nostalgic sad indie chill, genre filter, conjuring her implanted memories”.
Escalator single, was launched with video clip and an online Q&A as part of the 2020 Leaps and Bounds Music Festival makes a statement about an artist escaping corporate boredom to fulfil their creative self. Featuring performance artist and painter Billi Lime and directed filmmaker Stephanie Gould (US). The track engaged audiences on YouTube with its meditation on the unfolding of a performer’s work and art-life, joyful collaboration of muse and artist.
Self-titled debut track Double Vanity immediately grabbed the attention of the local and international airwaves. Its beautiful found footage video clip delved into an ‘80s plaza experience, complete with dream bathroom renovations and lycra-clad dancers, swirling jangle guitar and vocals dissolve in a hypnotic dance.
During Melbourne's extended lockdown, Double Vanity released the DV EP of remixes of their previous two singles. The Double Vanity Remixes EP features amazing producers and artists Jimmy Cass, shemale crime coven (Angel from Habits), Psychic Hysteria label-mate Astral Skulls and Mino Peric (No Sister) and beloved Estonian electronic music star, Starlight Maker.
