Tonight, Friday 13th, 2020 at 8 p.m. Amman time (GMT+3) Oliver Coates works as an ambient artist and releases music on RVNG Intl, exploring drone and drone metal techniques, a slime improvisation method with a viscous and melting approach to live sound, through digital loopers, distortion and chorus. He writes and records music for film, TV and theatre and moves continuously between roles of composer, performer, experimental musician and record producer. In broad strokes, Oliver has collaborated with Radiohead, Laurie Spiegel, Dean Blunt and Micachu. He has recorded with composers Jonny Greenwood and Mica Levi on the scores for There Will Be Blood and Under the Skin. He has also played live with Terry Riley, Steve Reich, Actress and Genesis P-Orridge. AND Mayss, a Jordanian curator & DJ dedicated to the values of art as a means of inner expression. She curated subversive events in Vancouver; skip_py and New Forms Festival hosting artists like Drew McDowall, Shed, DVS1, Traxx, Vladimir Ivkovic and Tadd Mullinix. She initiated Star Chamber in Amman, hosting artists like Chris Douglas and DJ Stingray. More recently, she started an initiative called Dreaming Live that entails discussions recounting the stories of uncompromising artists - so far hosting Martin Rev, David Lynch and Hans-Joachim Roedelius. Artwork by Rebecca R Peel Rebecca R Peel (b. 1990) resides in the Rocky Mountain West of the United States. She received a BFA from Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2013 and stashes her coins in a brass chamberstick. She is currently waiting for some bullet casings to patina and for 6 yards of rust-colored velvet ribbon to arrive in the mail.
