Duranbah
Los Angeles
In 2010, two brothers decided to take their dreams outside their own door and persue them. And so began, Duranbah.
Now, 5 years, countless shows, rehearsals, sleepless nights, recordings, videos, and 1 album later, Duranbah releases their second album, Runaway. But to tell this story we have to go back in time.
At first, the oldest of the 2, Lucas started guitar lessons with his father while his brother watched. When the family moved to Miami, Florida in 1998, the two started having drum lessons with the Brazilian drummer Fernando Moraes.
Back home in Brazil, in 2002 Leonardo, after finding his brothers broken guitar in the closet, decides to pick up the instrument and learn how to play it like his father. Fast foward to 2009, Lucas, now 18 years old, moves to Gold Coast, Australia.
Coming back home and getting back to playing with his brother, Lucas continues his heavy studies on drums, while Leonardo spends hours writing songs. Without expecting anything of it the brothers decide to record a video at home and post it on youtube. When they had to come up with a name, the brothers didn't think twice but to name the band after the beach wich they'd shared incredible moments while visiting Lucas in Australia. Duranbah! The result was great, and so they kept going. Soon after that they started playing shows around the city.
In 2013, after a long year of hard work and incredible experiences playing shows non-stop, they put out their first, self-titled album, produced by the aclaimed Brazilian producer, Luiz Carlos Maluly.
In 2014, they decide to chase their dream to live and study music in Los Angeles. Working hard on writing new songs, rehearsals, shows and everything that comes along with it, Duranbah records their second album, Runaway.
Produced by the brothers, with songs that talk about their life, relationships, friends, loves, heartbreaks and experiences the band mixes a little bit of everything they've picked up along the way. Now starts a new chapter in their story, one that is yet to be written and lived by the Bomeny Brothers.
