LORE
////////////////////////////////////////
It is told in an old scripture, forgotten already by those who linger in the ruins of the earthly realm of Kahl, how the goddess Selehn perished, and the events that came through after the fact.
The story goes as follows:
"The day was calm and a crystal breeze passed through the blue mountains in the realm of Kahl. The golden towers from the city of Maleck shined brighter than ever, and floating right above the city was Selehn, in her celestial throne.
It had long since been fortold that this day would be the day that the godly Mother would suffer the most terrible fate. The kaahl had dismissed the words of the prophets as simple superstition, and kept to their ignorance in the matters of the Gods, unaware of the shadow that loomed above.
(This portion of the scripture was lost, but it said something about the errands the people of Maleck ran with Those from Below.)
From her (Selehn) past conflicts with the gods was born a betrayer, slowly digging through her skin until it reached her heart. She opened her heart to him in a motherly embrace, yet the snake bit into her with evil in his eyes.
Blood curdling screams were heard across Kahl, the celestial body of the Goddess shook and jet black blood spread through the sky and fell into the land, covering the golden towers of Maleck.
From the blood were born pure beings, which called themselves the Children of Light, and said they came prepared to help the kaahl.
But the inhabitants of Kahl refused to take them in, and waged war against them, as they were afraid of the power these beings held.
The eldest son of Selehn, Calhein, became corrupt by the dark hearts of the kaahl, and in a fit of rage, cursed the skies forever, covering them with clouds that rained blood every 21 days.
The days following from there marked the fall of the realm of Kahl. Many beings woke from their slumber at the notice that the men in the surface no longer had the protection of their goddess.
A shadow grew closer as the days passed."
And it is such how the destruction of Kahl began, but as any tale of old, there is always one man who would carry this world into the light.
