Fat Mandy aka Jon Ward, brings a multitude of production and DJ skills which deliver a unique style: whether a radio show, warm up set or frantic festival dance floor. Fat Mandy has been a consistent contributor to the south coast dance music scene over the last 2 decades.
His slick sounds have rocked Glade, Noisily Festival of Music and Arts, Glastonbury Festivals, TRiBE of FRoG, Sicknote - Brightons Techno Night, Shift, Technosis, Codesouth.FM, The Bass Bin, After Dark Radio, The Widgeon Theatre Boat and many more, alongside industry legends such as Bushwacka, Terry Francis, Hardfloor, Luke Vibert, Ben Coda, DJ Billy Daniel Bunter, Chris Liberator, D.A.V.E. The Drummer, Grouch, Hedflux, Evil 9 and Meat Katie.
Starting in the early 2000s leading the party collectives Circuitree, Gnomelands, Bad by Design, Bass Invaders and Synthplicity; Fat Mandy also known as Mr Faster, has been organising and playing events from Bristol, London, Kent to Manchester, in iconic venues such as SE1, Mass, The Colosseum, Black Swan, Lakota, Jacks Club, Blue Mountain, Concorde2, and Volks.
Spreading good vibes and love with a collective free party sound system and countless crew linkups. Jon has held multiple residencies in every genre of music at Sicknote, Wobbly Records the Druids and Hare and Hounds. Jon was also one of 3 professional hires by the agency WDC, beating 140 other Brighton DJs in live auditions at the Grand, just one of 10 DJ comp victory’s over the years.
Playing a solid, positive and energetic mix of techno, Drum & Bass and party tunes, over 4 decks, Fat Mandy blends layer upon layer to keep the groove flowing, the dance floor jumping and the speakers thumping.
There is plenty in store with solo releases on Wobbly Records, a forth coming debut EP and the next edition of collaborative techno night: SHIFT.
Whatever the genre.. Fat Mandy keeps the good tunes coming, the mixes tight and the vibes strictly positive.
