We're FEiN, how are you?
----
How did you two meet?
Brandon: How do any two people meet in the 21st century, the age of the internet, where people can talk from opposite sides of the world whenever they please? We met in music school.
Luke: We met at USC while playing with our friend Barry Harris in his band the Euphoria. Brandon and I were each one fifth of the Euphoria. TWSS.
How would you describe your sound?
L: I'd say it's alternative music. We're both heavy into production so you'll find a lot of strange sounds, electronic elements, and twists and turns in our music.
B: Deliberate, intentional, thorough, caring, supportive, thoughtful, romantic, tough, rugged, distant, but not in a neglectful way. Just, you know, mysterious.
Where does your inspiration come from?
B: I like to think of inspiration as something that comes from the little things. Like little animals, or little trains with even smaller train conductors inside. It's the kind of stuff we take for granted in our everyday lives.
L: Living in Los Angeles (specifically Venice) with all of its homelessness, artistic freedom, and cultural overlap. Moving away from home. Change. Fucked up relationships.
What do you do when you're not making music?
B: I try to get out there and appreciate the little things. Like little kind gestures, or little leaves rustling in a little breeze. Or a little boat with a little sail, and little sailors bailing water out of the hull as fast as they can. But it won't work, their buckets are too little. What a world we live in!
L: Aniiiiiiiimeeeeee.
Can you two rap battle about burritos right now?
L: A burrito ain't got swag/unless there's red salsa in the bag. Enough for every bite/Guacamole, fries, floury tortilla. Halfway through/every time/I get worried/Because I want another burrito.
B: I just tried, but it's really hard to rap in text. [laughs] I legitimately tried!
A far more interesting question I have yet to think of?
L: What was your most damning childhood memory? What word do you have trouble pronouncing? If you had three wishes, which wish would have unintended consequences?
B: Can we eat burritos now? Maybe like, twenty little ones? Gotta appreciate the little things.
