Foil Brides Scott Andrew Bennett Brunswick, Maine Foil Brides is the songwriting vehicle of Scott Andrew Bennett, former indie recording engineer and co-writer/singer for Kent, Ohio indie psych rockers The All Golden. Now residing in Brunswick, Maine, Bennett mixes vast and grand electronic sound textures with timeless pop songwriting to evoke similar ‘artist in the studio’ auteurs like David Bowie, Mark Hollis, John Cale and Brian Eno. While living in Kent, Bennett founded and operated Waterloo Sound Recording and served as engineer on Witch Hazel’s ‘Landlocked’, as well as records by Harriet the Spy, The Party of Helicopters, The Man I Fell in Love With, The Revelers, Bill Fox, Gem, Doug Gillard, and The All Golden’s debut ' A Long Good Friday’ (an album that attained a measure of critical praise in such publications as NME, Magnet, Alternative Press, CMJ, The Irish Times etc.). Later, Bennett befriended Guided By Voices producer Todd Tobias who shared a similar love of cinematic songwriting and adventurous production techniques. In between producing GBV and Robert Pollard records at Waterloo Sound, Tobias engineered and produced the initial Foil Brides recordings. Bennett creates songs of loss and barren isolation – embracing both Greil Marcus’ ‘Old, Weird America’ and emotionally sanitized Kraut-Rock underpinnings to create a sober but captivating tour through confessional songwriting. From the Low-era Bowie sonics of ‘Nothing Can Touch You Now’ to the synthesized CSNY feel of ‘Over the Moon’, the music of Foil Brides appears as a deliciously varied and rewarding musical experience in an era where attention spans have dwindled to subatomic time scales. A lost soul in a crowded era of overexposure and noise, Bennett again proves that vision and authentic voice resonate far beyond clumsy and fabricated machinations. - DCB Foil Brides’s tracks Nothing Can Touch You Now by Foil Brides published on 2013-03-07T12:28:37Z The Lone Gunman Theory by Foil Brides published on 2013-03-07T07:01:21Z Celebrated (for All the World) by Foil Brides published on 2013-03-07T03:45:42Z Last in the Line of a Fortunate Few by Foil Brides published on 2013-03-07T03:44:04Z Sons of the Gilded Age by Foil Brides published on 2013-03-07T03:39:17Z Sympathy Flags by Foil Brides published on 2013-03-07T03:37:33Z Over the Moon by Foil Brides published on 2013-03-07T03:34:17Z Awake Now by Foil Brides published on 2013-03-07T03:30:38Z The Storm She Feeds On by Foil Brides published on 2013-03-07T03:25:44Z
