Interview w/ Steady Rock
1: What is your go-to studio snack?
A: Carrots or oranges straight from the fridge.
2: Being a hip-hop head, who is your favorite hip-hop producer and why?
A: J Dilla, He was the first dude I listened to where I can bump his instrumentals non stop. The way he flipped samples was crazy. Listening to him made me get hooked on trying to find the original samples of hip hop songs I liked.
3: What show has been the most fun to play?
A: I get asked this question a lot and for some reason I never have an answer. I can tell you one of my faves was when me and you played B2B at Shady Park.
4. What is one of your dream clubs to play at?
A: Space, I was suppose to play there for Miami Music Week but then the apocalypse happened haha
5: What is the weirdest song in your personal Spotify library?
A: The song isn't that weird but the artwork is off the chain. Lying Has To Stop - Soft Hair
6: What is your favorite childhood video game?
A: Fifa 99 and COD 4 Modern Warfare
7: Favorite 90’s cartoon?
A: Spongebob
8: Who are some of your biggest influences musically at the moment?
A: Luuk Van Dijik, Riva Starr, Mark Broom, Astronomar, Patrick Topping, The Doors, Black Sabbath
9: Which artist/band has been your all time favorite live performance?
A: It's a tie between Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Tame Impala. I saw Tame Impala one time at the Hollywood forever Cemetery and it was off the chain.
10: Who is your favorite Stand Up Comedian?
A: Dave Chappelle.
11: If you were getting Mexican food after a gig, what are you getting? and what drink?
A: Always Cheese Enchiladas with an Horchata
12: As a music collector, what is your favorite Tape, CD, or vinyl record that you own?
A: One of my faves is I have the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack on Vinyl haha
13: If you would give one piece of advise to aspiring young producers, what would that be?
A:Don't get too caught up with the technical side of music production, work every single day and make it fun.
14: Are there any releases lined up for the near future that your fans can expect?
A: You & me have a collab coming out this summer! Peep the end of the mix!
15: What is the first thing you would like to do once the COVID-19 pandemic comes to a hault?
A: Taking a shower.
