Alexander Johansson & Mattias Fridell- Laxunge EP [SYMDIGI011] by Mattias Fridell published on 2021-08-29T12:21:53Z Mattias Fridell and Alexander Johanssons Laxunge EP lands on Symbolism. Their debut EP for Ben Sims vital imprint sees the frequent collaborators turn in four tracks of devil-in-the-detail techno. Kicking off with Laxunge, a loopy piece of tripping funk that twists an incessant lead with true jazz flair, the Swedish pair dont mess about on Laxunge EP. The second track, Apparaten, is as dominating and disorientating as it is stomping, while Bakhalts metallic, dragging soundscapes show a tense but reflective side to the duos material. Nojig closes the EP with a flittering, upbeat melody embedded into a hazy groove that, while the most subtle work on display here, still carries a hefty portion of dancefloor clout.
