The Origins Of Dub Techno by Jeff Chill published on 2024-01-25T00:25:35Z As I often play these records alongside newer releases, I realized most of those classics were more than 25 years old, I thought of compiling them together to show where dub tech comes from and how timeless most of these tracks are...Take a record like Round Four, discovered for a lot of people like me on Daniel Bell's mix (2000) The button down mind of Daniel Bell. More than 25 years onwards, you can look at a record like this, alongside Baby Ford and early Ricardo Villalobos as the blueprint for modern minimal and dubby electronic music, but that would imply that those genres later improved upon the overall formula. In reality, few got even close to as good as this. The origins of a genre is often more important than newer releases.
