Crystal Concerto by Lucidin published on 2021-01-11T07:17:32Z You walk into a large cave, beset by large quartz and amethyst structures on all sides. You have always heard tales about caves like this, but never expected to visit one this grand. It's like something out of a dream, but it's all very much real. As you walk through the cave, taking pictures here and there, you begin to get the feeling like you are being watched. All of a sudden you start hearing a small tune coming from up above on one of the cave's many natural crystal bridges. You look up to see a small creature, no taller than a small child and a face that resembles a light socket, with steel-blue and almost rocky-looking skin, and wearing a garment that is adorned with small bits of quartz in a haphazard pattern. Before you can process the sight of this strange creature, you are surrounded by a glassy, haunting-yet-happy tune that is being drummed up by the cave's bored and carefree denizens, looking much the same as the small creature that initiated this little concert. They are all adorned with random crystals and odd garments that seem to have no rhyme or reason, yet at the same time appear to have some order to their chaotic appearance, much like the crystalline structure of this cave. As the song ends, the creatures mostly flee back to their little holes in the walls, with some sticking around to observe this strange new creature that came into their home. You wave hello at one of them, and it awkwardly mimics your movement and chatters to its neighbor with much the same sort of glassy cacophony as the welcome song they just played. You snap a picture of one of them, but left your flash on. This spooks the rest of the creatures and they go back inside their small homes that they carved from the rock and crystal lining the cave walls. All except the one you first saw, who goes back to playing its original tune without a care in the world. After a while, you leave the cave, waving goodbye to the small curious creatures that graced you with their song. If only you had charged your phone before leaving this morning, you may have had enough battery life to get a video of this Crystal Concert, but the memory of this encounter will have to suffice (that and the few photos you were able to take).
