This is how I feel about breaks. The impetuous simple being, breaks IS the pioneer of this whole crazy thing we all love so much. When you are at the forefront of a cultural phenomenon that didn't just "change the game" it literally invented its own game no one ever knew could exist. That is why breaks will always reign true because there is nothing that preceded breaks. It was and still is the genesis, there was nothing before, it is the very antithesis of what we all know today. It is SO much easier to take what already exists and mold it into something else than it is to create from the ether of nothingness. Breaks is the truest mother of invention and to respect and honor this is such a magnanimous gesture that in my opine isn't something that should taken with a grain of salt, because from these humble beginnings in the inner city street of Chicago and NY was birthed what many of us take for granted now. Where would EDM be it wasn't for breaks? How many more years would it have taken until the emergence of whatever electronic may have morphed into without breaks? Would the amalgamation of Moog and electronic music just been a dead end? It VERY well could have just been another "invention" sitting in the corner collecting dust which never came into fruition. How many countless inventions have gone by the wayside just because of circumstance? We may have easily lost into the cosmos a treasure of humanity that we all so quickly take for granted now. We may have easily lost into the cosmos a treasure of humanity that we all so quickly take for granted now. It very easily could have just been another passing fad, but because and entire culture embraced and said "I dig this shit" we all get to reap the benefits which have enriched our lives and united a species that has literally defied all conventional wisdom. I'm glad, blessed and in awe when I think of all this crazy experience we all know to be our lives today. That I can say I was alive in a moment in history that our amazing species was able to grab of hold of something and not let go, because it is who we are down to the very sub atomic particles. This makes us who we are in so many ways. Music is life, anyone who knows me knows that apart from friendship nothing is more important to me than music, and my favorite genre of music is electronic music, within that is a more refined subsection called breaks. If you've never really submerged yourself into breaks you simply aren't listening. It is what inspires me it is what drives me to be a better man and to be the best person I could ever dream to be. It's where it all started please please if you love electronic music, always remember that without breaks, NONE of this would have been possible. Pioneers aren't called seconeers. They are called pioneers because without them NONE of this would exist. If you have a chance really soak yourself up and disolve away into a good breaks mix and give thanks to those that paved the way. I hope this doesn't fall on deaf ears. 2012-03-17T12:35:40Z Comment by Richard T Grimes Massive.. 2011-06-05T12:55:00Z Comment by Lynsey Goosepimples!!! 2011-06-03T16:05:55Z Comment by mesmer Great mix bro !!!
