On this sunny afternoon in early October, Hekske the little witch and Lalita the nymph were relaxing in the crystal-clear water of the nymph’s pond. After a long while, the girls finally decided to get out of the water and Lalita checked the delicate massage oil which she had been preparing in her little cauldron using spices from her home country of Sri Lanka (see witchtape #102). She had prepared the oil according to an old ayurvedic recipe which had been passed on from nymph to nymph for over 2500 years. After checking whether the brew had cooled down sufficiently, the moment had come to try out the massage oil. The little witch lied down on her belly on a comfortable soft bed of moss and the nymph gave a relaxing massage to her feet and ankles. It was the first ever massage for the witch and she slowly drifted away in a state of deep relaxation, while lots of curious animals and birds had flocked together to observe this soothing spectacle from a distance. At that moment, Lalita poured the first few drops of the warm ayurvedic oil on the witch’s legs, after which she gently rubbed the oil into her soft skin, while the sophisticated scent of cinnamon and cardamom spread through the forest. For the little witch, this was the moment she seemingly entered a parallel dimension and saw visions of the beautiful island of Sri Lanka, full of lush greenery, tropical fruits, crystal-clear waterfalls and mystic temples. The girl drifted further and further away into a state of blissful hypnosis, while Lalita gently massaged her back and shoulders, only briefly waking the witch up from her state of hypnosis to make her turn on her back and give her a gentle massage of her face and head.
While all this was happening, Ishola the wizard had returned from a 6-month journey through Central and South Asia. He was surprised that he was able to enter the forest of his fiancée completely unnoticed. Usually the little witch senses his presence from miles away, but this time she was so absorbed by her inner voyage, that she had lost all sense of space and time. Meanwhile the wizard had arrived at the scene and it was Eva, the little black rabbit who spotted him first (the other animals were just too busy watching the massage). Eva ran as fast as she could to the nymph, to draw her attention to the visitor. Normally Eva is quietest and sweetest of all rabbits, so it was really unusual to see her bounce around like this. The little witch was completely oblivious of this commotion around her, and the nymph quietly resumed the massage, but now she was joined by the wizard (who had received training in ayurvedic medicine during his stay in Asia, so he knew what he was doing). During all this time, the little witch remained in a blissful meditative state while she felt a distinctively feminine force being joined by strong masculine force, resulting in an delicate balance of powerful forces. After noticing the wizard was in the right groove, the nymph left him alone with his fiancée. Gradually the scent of cinnamon and cardamom made place for a particularly strong mix of sulphur and sea water while her inner voyage led her to the rugged shores of Iceland, the land of the legendary Eldnorns … fire witches. And the land of the mythic Kirkjufell mountain, an active volcano of surreal beauty rising up from the Ocean. After touching down on the intensely blue rocks near the ice-covered summit, she could feel the heat of this active volcano. A collision of ice and fire … cinnamon and sulphur …
