Hirola New EP 'Night Carvings' Out 7th June 2019. @edapollo & @lto-oa collaboration Contact: hirolamusic[at]gmail[dot]com “Exquisite” Mary-Anne Hobbs “Hirola veers between breathtaking ambience and sheer euphoric melody.” Gold Flake Paint Hirola is made up of Bristol based producers LTO and edapollo. Known for praised modern classical/ambient releases Storybook (Injazero Records) and Déjà Rêvé (Denovali Records), LTO is well regarded as part of critically acclaimed collective Old Apparatus. Joining him in Hirola is producer and visual artist edapollo, who has released on labels such as Bad Panda and Svnset Waves. Either working together in the studio or sharing synth loops and piano chords back and forth to gradually build their sound, the pair create beautifully layered, atmospheric production that brings to mind the work of Kiasmos, Rival Consoles and Jon Hopkins. Their self titled debut EP was released through Phantom Limb (headed by FatCat alumnus James Vella and former Royal Albert Hall music programmer Mark Pearse). This release enabled them to explore and hone a sound that combined LTO’s rich ambient textures and piano work with edapollo’s hazy synths, vocals and guitar. It received repeated airplay from Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC 6 Music and positive reviews from music blogs Louder Than War, Gold Flake Paint and Loose Lips.
