After re-launching "House Trip" again in September 2012 we have had the pleasure to bring you some amazing mixes from across the globe as well as the Uk....
We would like to thank here at "House Trip" Roni Be, Danny Deep, Alberto Ampezzi, Jon Sweetname, Peers & Upright, Howard Sessions, Guy Smiley, Artie Flexs and Jesus Pablo for there support in making this series happen....
As a special thank you to all our supporters of the last 12 months we have decided to bring you all a special 2 hour mix from 2 deep house heavyweights in Jesus Pablo and Artie Flexs...
The first hour of the mix comes from Jesus Pablo...
DJ, producer, remixer, record label boss… Jesus Pablo wears many hats. What's more, as well as juggling his many musical commitments, he's also trying to forge a career as a fashion designer, marking out the 32-year-old Liverpudlian with the Spanish-sounding alias – in real life he's known as Paul Morgan – as a truly creative individual.
Which no doubt goes some way to explaining how he's managed to build up such an impressive discography, despite having been in the production game for a relatively short time. Not that he's any stranger to the house scene in general: he started DJing around his home town at the tender age of 16, playing “house and piano classics on a Sunday night in his local”.
In fact, Paul/Jesus is refreshingly honest about his early influences. “Everyone always says they grew up with their Dad's soul, funk and jazz records,” he says. “But my Dad was a big Beatles, Doris Day and Billy Fury fan, so my taste for house music certainly didn't come from there!” Instead, he says, it was Baby D's 'Let Me Be Your Fantasy' that first caught his ear, back when he was still in junior school (bless). Soon he was immersing himself in his mates' older brothers' Quadrant Park mixtapes and buying Cream and Ministry CDs – he still cites local Liverpudlian legend Paul Bleasdale as a major influence – and from there, he inexorably found his way to the deeper, more soulful house sounds of Kerri Chandler, Masters At Work et al.
Today, Jesus Pablo is a distinctive and very contemporary sound that fuses deep house and techno flavas, with his many productions, remixes and collaborations appearing on some of the most respected labels in the house/deep house game, including Large Music, i! Records, Lost My Dog, Viva Recordings, Bulletdodge Records, Savoir Faire Musique, Headset Recordings, What Happens and more.
As a DJ, he's already made his mark on the international circuit over the last 10 years. He's played in South Africa twice already in the space of 6 months and undertaken a month-long tour of the USA and Mexico in 2011, he's also racked up gigs in Germany, Georgia, Poland, Norway and Denmark, as well as manning the decks at a host of underground clubs across the UK – always sticking to his key philosophy: “Music should make you dance, smile and think all at the same time, so that's what I intend to do.”
Back in 2011 he launched Something Different Records, a record label that's already picking up mucho plaudits from those in the knowm, as well as some huge support from the likes of Marco Carola, Nic Fanciulli, Pete Tong, Sasha, Crazy P, Tensnake and Nick Warren over the last 12 months. This year he expanded his label group by launching Something Different Again (a moodier and darker side to house and techno), Something Else (pushing that 90's garage, house and techno era) and Different Attitudes (pushing quality music thats not for following trends, but setting them), all main labels in their own right and already speading their love house and techno to the sets of many worldwide.
Fast building a reputation as one of the industry's hardest working, Jesus Pablo is clear about his aims – he's in this for the long haul. Hell, he's been at it 17 years already, why stop now? He'll keep on spreading the love of quality underground dance music wherever he goes… and this is one up-and-coming talent who truly IS going places, have no doubt!

Next up is a very good friend Artie Flexs and we caught up with him between remix work this week for a few questions....
Beginning his career (as many) with little clubs Artie Flexs slowly took his experience. And in 2004 he gets a residency in a small club, what served to him as a advancement. In the same year he began to study music production.
2005 became the year of enlightening for him, acquaintance with Dj Abu, and in total strong friendship, opening of his basic style – Progressive House (by then in Latvia that style was not so popular as now).
In 2006 he had his first experience in an underground club, sharing the decks with more professional dj’s.
In 2007 Artie Flexs played at arrangements and clubs, such as : Tonuss(Jelgava, Latvia), From Dusk Till Dawn(Chill-Out)(Tallinn, Estonia), Wash My Brain(WMB)(Rezekne, Latvia), In 2008 : Promix Open Party(Bermuds Club, Ogre, Latvia), Positive Vibes(C.P.(Central Point)Club, Tallinn, Estonia), etc.
He devoted his time in 2008 to creation and more serious study of music, creating the enormous amount of loops and grooves.
In 2009 his first work went out in April – “Fun Time” on Ukrainian label Bashi Records, which is on sale in all largest download stores.
A debut release went out in July - “Disco Space EP” by Lost My Dog Records, exclusively for Beatport.com, in August the same release will be in all the largest download stores around the world. “Disco Space EP” was chosen as “Tune Of The Month” by MixMag. This release also got a lot of support from the worlds famous radio stations, as like: Ministry Of Sound, Proton, Raunchy Rhythms and many more.
After a successful debut release he got a request to remix a composition of Latenight Society - "Do It Right" which is now on sale in all leading download stores and also on vinyl.
In November another release goes out under the name "Damaged EP" on Lost My Dog. "Damaged EP" got many support from the world dj’s, such as: Nick Warren, Fred Everything, Dubfire, Brothers Vibe...
Music style of Artie Flexs is compared to such artists as: 2020 Soundsystem, Spirit Catcher and Motor City Drum Ensemble.
In late 2009 Artie became a resident artist of Proton Music sub label – Spring Tube.
2010 began with a bang for Artie. On 18th of January Artie Flexs released his debut album "The Journey" on Lost My Dog. An album can be purchased in all leading download stores and also get the album quite free of charge, simply register on the Lost My Dog page on the internet.
In the end of 2011 Artie has became a resident DJ on SS Radio UK and hosts his own radio show “Friday Cream” every week on fridays.
His sets and music are saturated with an intellectual and modern drive, possibly with a look in the future.
(1) - Hi Artie, can you please tell us a little bit about yourself as a Dj and producer ?
I began to dj back in 2002, at that time I did not have a style that I was really into, it didn’t take me long to discover house music. My sister brought me a double cd from Germany with such artists as Roger Sanchez, Black Legend, Modjo, Spiller, Nightcrawlers and so on. That pushed me to get deeper into house music, that was the time when I noticed “Dance Box” radio show, that was broadcasted at our local radio station. Every week I was listening to the show and exploring more tracks to myself. I remember discovering Knee Deep, Shakedown, Dj Chus, Boris Dlugosch, Chocolate Puma, Bob Sinclair (at early stages) and many more. From that time I knew that I’m into House music!
Two years later I was trying to make some tracks with MTV Music Generator on PS 1 (laughing). Those were not my tracks, I was just understanding how to build a track with already created riffs. After few months I was creating my own riffs and building tracks from scratch. That was the first step to my producer career. From that time I went through FL Studio, Reason and Ableton Live. Now you can judge my production by checking myself on major online music stores.
(2) - Which current Dj's and producers are inspiring you and are worth looking out for ?
Wow! There’s many actually, I’m learning some tricks from a lot of artists, not that I’m copying stuff from them, it’s inspiration just. I certainly have my own signature in my productions. As I said I have learned from the old school house and still have it in my heart. But if you need to know a few, then you should totally check out these artists: Moet & Benson, Velvet Tux, Pete Dafeet, Giom, Heartik, Ludowick and the list can be endless actually. If you interested in what artists I’m into, then just follow me on my mixcloud page and listen to my Illusions Tape podcast, it comes out every month.
(3) - Tell us a little about the current house scene in Riga ?
The scene in Riga is very different, some people are into mainstream EDM, some people just listen to pop stuff, but there’s a few that are into quality electronic music. Can’t say that there’s a lot of underground venues here, but you can find some places to listen to good house music for sure.
We have a lot of good dj’s and some producers as well. If you want, to find a Latvian producer beside me, then you definitely should check out this artists: Blood Groove & Kikis, Electricano, Kaspar Kochker, Bogdan Taran…….
(4) - What do you think about the popularity of Vinyl again ? Does this surprise you ?
Vinyl! I love vinyl! And it’s great that it’s coming back, you get the best reward for producing a track or a remix, it’s when your production is being released on vinyl.
And of course I love the sound that vinyl brings to us, it’s not the same with what can digital sound can bring to us. I hope the that it will come back strong, without any “seratos” and stuff. Fake vinyl won’t get you that sound!
(5) Have you got any new releases planned coming out soon for the followers of "House Trip" to keep a look out for ?
YES! I am closely working with Evoked Recordings lately and already done three remixes for them, and also signed an original track with them, there will be some remixes as well. So follow Evoked for my new stuff. Also I’ve signed another original with Undertechnical Recordings, guess it will be out soon.
And of course it’s not the last time you will be hearing from me.
6) We really appreciate you taking time out to bring us this months "House Trip" - do you have a message for the followers of "House Trip" ?
Well, first of all I want to thank You for inviting me to “House Trip”, glad to be a part of it. And of course I want to thank all of my supporters for supporting me.
My message would be: Stay true to what you do and keep doing it. Be positive and stay strong even when it’s hard. And don’t be a fake!
