Someone Just Like Me by Ian Stokes published on 2023-02-27T16:28:46Z ℗ © Copyright Ian Stokes. All Rights Reserved Recorded, mixed and mastered in Logic. Guitar played: Taylor 714CE in standard tuning (Capo 1st Fret) Photography: Thanks go to Nigel and Libby Hume at Hume Photography. Song Notes: For those who have expressed an interest in how I record my acoustic guitar, I use two small diaphragm condenser mics set up in an XY pattern mounted on a stereo bar within a reflexion filter. I record identical versions of the guitar tracks and then select one for the stereo left channel and one for the stereo right channel. Soundcloud has proved to be a wonderful place to connect with musicians and with people who love to listen to music all over the world. There is something truly magical and inspirational about receiving feedback from someone who has listened to my music. It’s incredible to be able to post a song on Soundcloud and know that someone - maybe on the other side of the planet - or as the song says "...down in the delta..." has somehow connected with my music. Thank you for listening!! LYRICS: Winding its way through the canyon Like a snake in the mid-day sun I could sit here for a lifetime And watch that river run And somewhere down in the delta Where the river runs to the sea Maybe someone is watching that river Someone just like me Running wild, river running deep It’s something I can’t explain But somehow I feel that river Is running ………….through my veins It’s a universal story Under the mid-day sun Another life in another lifetime Will watch that river run And somewhere down in the delta Where the river runs to the sea Someone will watch that river Maybe Someone just like me Running wild, river running deep It’s something I can’t explain But somehow I feel that river Is running ………….through my veins Genre Folk & Singer-Songwriter Comment by Daniels & Durgy Well said and played Ian. Rivers are somewhat like a campfire, there’s some mysterious life to them until they run out. A very relatable folk song, and played with your always clear and true guitar work. Durge 2024-05-08T04:06:54Z Comment by Dave Orestes 1 beautiful crisp guitar and melody...like the image of people distant/different looking at the same river the same moon the same shooting star is such a wonderful perspective..guitar is so rich and deep in tone and feeling 2024-03-20T16:09:51Z Comment by falcon Once again great work here, looking forward to hearing more! 2024-02-07T14:51:27Z Comment by DMc.Music (1) Lovely Traditional Music. Crystal clear recording. I experienced that double tracking technique on previous song 'Collect the Moment'. Sure gives an expansive chorus like effect across the panning space. Great song! 2023-05-26T17:28:19Z Comment by ali keykavoosi woow 2023-05-24T07:08:30Z Comment by Francesco Cartocci beautiful song and super quality sounds, great 2023-05-19T17:38:56Z Comment by Universal90 verry nice and good guitar and voice😍 2023-05-05T16:31:12Z Comment by Classical Glass quality music 2023-04-30T02:59:05Z Comment by Midisound music to appease gloomy moments and focus on the most simple and beautiful things in life.
