FuRa (Future Rapper) is a popular name among students in Dubai. Sporting a black t-shirt with a long fauxhawk, FuRa’s outfit evinces a feel from an MTV music video. The hairdo is a loud style statement for the rapper’s attitude as he comes on stage to face-off competition from other students.
“Live rap is all about the energy you bring on stage. It’s not that hard,” remarks FuRa as a crowd of students finds resonance in his wordings describing student hardships, University events and youth competitions are a big part of a student experience as they open up opportunities.
Bringing students from different backgrounds on one stage, the shows are a great way to make new friends, says FuRa.
“After winning a university level competition last year, I got a lot of opportunities to perform outside university and I always see such shows as a gateway to becoming famous,” says FuRa.
