My take on Global Warming- Youth Media Challenge 2020 by Jacqueline Mann published on 2020-10-30T03:56:51Z I talk about the importance of voting in this years 2020 election which will determine whether we still have a chance at saving the earth. Transcript: Global warming is one of the biggest issues humanity faces yet. It is the cause for most of the earth’s environmental problems including wildfires, droughts, increasing temperatures, and rising sea levels from the melting of the Antarctic ice sheets. I have lived in Texas all of my life and throughout the years, since I could remember, I have noticed how each year the weather has become warmer, the winters have become shorter, and the heat in the summer has grown more intense. If we don’t stop or minimize pollution, global warming will soon be irreversible. NASA experts say the average global temperature has increased, most of the rapid warming taking place over the last 40 years, and many scientists predict that without change, the average temperature of the U.S. will rise 10 degrees Fahrenheit by the next century. This is why we need to save the earth now, while we can still make a change. Something everyone can do to try and stop global warming is vote in the 2020 presidential election. Vote for the candidate that will strive to make change in the environment. Your vote could determine whether or not we have a chance at saving the earth, so cast your vote before it’s too late.
