The self confessed career chameleon is the people’s success story, having abandoned previous lives as a lifeguard and semi-pro footballer to follow his dream of being a pop star. Jake was born with music in his soul and despite his ever-growing CV, music has always remained his first love.
With the help and support of the British public, Jake has gone from strength-to-strength and shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. His debut track “I Want You” is an infusion of classic disco with modern pop sensibility – an unexpected but welcomed new sound from the young and upcoming star.
The summer sizzler showcases the musical direction that the independent artist is taking, and he wants people to know that he wants the ‘music to do the talking’. Taking inspiration from Nile Rodgers and Bruno Mars, the new track is leaps away from what we’re used to hearing from this emerging talent. It marks what is set to be an exciting new chapter for Jake.
Jake Quickenden is embarking on his debut tour ‘Laid Bare’ this July 2015. The UK and Ireland tour will span 13 dates, featuring a collection of original tracks from his new EP as well as a handful of heart-melting covers.
Jake says: “What I love the most is that throughout the last two years it has been the public who have fuelled a career for me. They voted on the X Factor and they voted for me on I’m a Celebrity. Now they are still in my corner. They’ve enabled me to live the dream, to make those promises I made to those important people in my life come true and I am so grateful. I’ve had near to one hundred jobs, sacked from most, but the love has always been music. From McDonalds, to Footballer and then Lifeguard, I’ve never neglected my first love. This is my chance to show people the artist that I want to be, the music is on my terms.”
